Hollywood star, Luke Wilson, is teaming up with Puma and Swedish sports star Johan Edfors to create a line of golf products. Wilson is an avid golfer and has even been named in the top 40 Hollywood golfers by Golf Digest magazine.

If you are a regular reader of mine, you know that I talk golf business and participation a lot and that I am concerned about declining participation signals in the form of course closures, golf real estate issues, declining rounds played, and fewer "core" golfers.

Golf cars are becoming more popular off the course.  For seniors to every age in between, golf carts are the perfect choice to tool around in.  They’ve got more uses than just on the golf course.  Use them while shopping, during recreational activities or while puttering around the garden.

Part of the problem is that the carts are faster than they used to be.

I hope everyone had the chance to watch John Atkinson play the U.S. Open golf course at Torrey Pines, California, as part of a celebrity foursome with NBC Today Show anchor Matt Lauer, Dallas Cowboy player Tony Romo and entertainer Justin Timberlake. The event was broadcast on NBC Sports on Sunday, Father’s Day.

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo met the Golf Digest U.S. Open Challenge without trouble Friday at Torrey Pines Golf Course, the site of next week’s U.S. Open. Romo broke 100 with ease, carding a 13-over 84 on the par-71, 7,643-yard South Course.
