It’s the news that contract-phobes like myself have been waiting for, the price of the iPhone 3G on a pay and go credit plan. While I hate commitment and therefore generally steer clear of any sort of contract that binds me to a constant depletion of my bank account, I may be rethinking my stance after seeing what the phone outlay will cost.

Nokia’s mobile music services, Comes With Music, which will be launching in UK next month, and in continental Europe and Asia next year. Nokia is joining hands with mobile retailer Carphone Warehouse, which has more than 800 shops and is Apple’s sole independent distributor of the iPhone in UK, to stock the phone.

O2 announces the pay - as - you - go iPhone 3G version which will be available to the customers from 16 September. Within a few weeks, iPhone 3G’s 8GB version will cost the customer £349.99 and the 16GB just £50 more at £399.99.

O2 has announced it will sell the iPhone 3G with a pay-as-you-go option starting with September 16th. Curious about prices? The 8GB version will sell for £350 or about $700 and the 16GB version will sell for £400 or about $800.

For all those waiting for the details of the iPhone PAYG package - here it is; and it’s before Christmas too!!! I feel that I have to warn you though - it aint cheap! £349 for the 8GB version and £399 for the 16GB - GULP! Your cash will get you unlimited browsing and WiFi for the first 12 months, after which it’ll be £10 a month.
