The Indian democracy celebrates its diverse, secular and libertarian credentials often but I wonder if they actually hold true in today’s times! Agreed we are secular but we do allow people to lynch others on religious disputes without guilt or shame? Citizens are allowed freedom of speech and the right to dissent but we also have laws like CSPSA or the AFSPA which become constricting.

Posted by enkerli on August 8, 2008 As a creative generalist, I don’t tend to emphasize expert status too much, but I do see advantages in complementarity between people who act in different spheres of social life. As we say in French, «à chacun son métier et les vaches seront bien gardées» (”to each their own profession and cows will be well-kept”).

In today’s show the emphasis is on students who decide to spend some quality time abroad. What are their choices, how do students need to prepare themselves, when should they start with their intercultural preparations? Most students, whether they take a Bachelor or a Master course, have the opportunity to go abroad for some time during their studies.
