Jump to Comments I know Danny is prepping a major political post this week, but I saw a great article on Sarah Palin by the amazing George Lakoff (UC Berekeley professor of cognitive linguistics) warning that many of her strengths as a candidate are similar to the characteristics that propelled GWB and Reagan to success.

Democrats cannot afford to be complacent about Sarah Palin, nor can they afford to be shrill. I mentioned on Twitter over the weekend that I thought it was a horrible idea to even repeat the rumors that were flying around in high number and force.

The facts unframed will not set you free. You cannot win just by stating the true facts and showing that they contradict your opponent’s claims.

Evan R. Goldstein writes an excellent profile in The Chronicle of Higher Education of George P. Lakoff, the U.C. Berkeley professor of cognitive linguistics whose theory of "frames" became very popular among the Democrats back when they were still failing. Now the Democrats are ascendant, yet Lakoff is oddly out of the winners circle.
