Good ol' Charlie Brown, or On the nature of modern life
http://thiswillhurtme.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 05/ good-ol-charlie-brown-or-on-nature…I am going to be totally honest with you and admit that I think that Charles Schulz, creator of Peanuts, should be regarded every bit as highly as any other creative genius that you could name. Forget the never-ending line of Snoopy merchandise for a moment (and I like Snoopy, don't get me wrong).

California’s Wrong Turn
http://destinycommunitychurch.net/ blog/ ?p=4California’s Wrong Turn Published in May 16th, 2008 Posted by Pastor Tim in General No Comments It seems quite surreal to turn on the news today to hear pundants and the politically correct media outlets discussing a landmark 300 page decision by the California Supreme Court paving the way for gay marriage under the guise that it is a basic “liberty” protected by the constitution.

Ludovicians (pissing in the wind)
http://prozacville.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 05/ ludovicians-pissing-in-wind.htmlHave been putting my week-long supine state to 'good' use by reading a novel or two. Steven Hall's Raw Shark Texts seemed to resonate. I could do with being attacked by a memory-munching Ludovician at the moment.

Is it September already?
http://www.niceguysfinishthird.com/ ?p=277There are people in the baseball-following world that thought the M’s were an Erik Bedard away from contending for the postseason this year. I was not one of those people, but I did think, once the deal was finally done, Bedard would be a great asset to the team and that the M’s had 80-84 wins in them. Whether that 84-win high end was playoff-worthy, now, that’s another story.

Shawn Chacon Feels No Joy, No Pain
http://www.walkoffwalk.com/ 2008/ 05/ shawn-chacon-feels-no-joy-no-p.htmlIn today's Houston Chronicle, Jose De Jesus Ortiz points out a record that was tied this weekend, to little fanfare. Shawn Chacon is the first pitcher in 43 years to start a season with eight no decisions. His ph balanced start matches the standard for neutrality set by the immortal Dick Stigman in 1965.

An Ignoramus
http://www.falseperspective.com/ oped/ an-ignoramus/http://www.falseperspective.com/oped/an-ignoramus/. Our workplace lefty barker showed up yesterday to lecture an adjacent co-worker about Big Oil. She managed to be entirely confusing and obviously had no idea what she was talking about. I sat mostly quiet because I generally consider arguing (or
