This is the first of our new Guest articles section on Transit Miami… London’s Docklands Light Rail System by TransitDave Riding a transit system does more than give you a feel for the city you’re in; If you’re a transit buff, you also notice things about the system itself, and compare it to other systems you’ve ridden in other cities, and, naturally, to the one in your hometown.

    Dynamic Language vs XML

    http://haacked.com/ archive/ 2008/ 04/ 18/ dynamic-language-dsl-vs-xml-configura…

Disclaimer: My opinions only, not anyone else’s. Nothing official here. I shouldn’t have to say this, but past history suggests I should. P.S. I’m not an expert on DSLs and Dynamic Languages ;) This week I attended a talk by John Lam on IronRuby in which he trotted out the Uncle Ben line, with great power comes great responsibility.

    http://www.paulandstorm.com/ archives/ david-lee-roth-tribute/

Much like the ocean, the internet frequently tosses pleasant surprises up onto the beach, and it is up to us to make the best possible art out of the driftwood bounty. If you haven’t heard it yet: some while back, Chunklet unearthed David Lee Roth’s isolated vocal track from "Runnin’ With the Devil", and it’s…well, it’s frickin’ awesome.

    http://www.datacenterknowledge.com/ archives/ 2008/ Apr/ 10/ data_center_reits_g…

Real estate investment trusts (REITs) focusing on the data center sector are a pretty exclusive group. It's a club with only two members - Digital Realty Trust (DLR) and Dupont Fabros Technology (DFT). The investment potential of these two REITs was the subject of an Associated Press article...

My First IronRuby Unit Test Spec For ASP.NET MVC

    http://haacked.com/ archive/ 2008/ 04/ 09/ my-first-ironruby-unit-test-spec-for-…

Way down the road, it would be nice to be able to build ASP.NET MVC applications using a DLR language such as IronRuby. However, enabling DLR language support isn’t free. There are going to be places in our design that are specific to statically typed languages (such as Attribute based filters) that just wouldn’t work (or would be too unnatural) with a dynamic language.
