Yes, I know there are a hundred million bands out there with upcoming albums and I don’t write about many of them, but that’s because Snow Patrol is my absolute favorite, so you’re going to get news about them. Back in late May I let you guys know that the band was working on a new album per their website, but try as I might, more info wasn’t to be had.

Building on the success of ‘The Edge of the 80s’ earlier this year, it seemed only right and proper to continue the series. The logical next release is ‘The Edge of the 70s’, serving up 3CDs of classic tracks from the late 70s as well as some more obscure gems, and tracks that have never been on CD before.

So last week, I was lucky enough to hear the new album from Brooklyn’s finest TV On The Radio, Dear Science at a very small little listening party in Soho. Quite exciting as it’s not due out until September 23rd and on initial listenings, it sounds like it really could be one 2008’s musical gems.
