Two lovely ladies were crowned as Miss Winter Haven USA and Miss Cypress Gardens USA on Saturday. The pageant took place at Cypress Gardens’ Royal Palm Theater, where 12 ladies competed for the titles. Twenty-year-old Megan Morin of Tampa won the title of Miss Winter Haven USA.

Be part of history as Cypress Gardens brings the excitement of a beauty pageant to the park tomorrow. The pageant takes place at 6 p.m. in the Royal Palm Theater. The two highest scoring ladies will be awarded Miss Cypress Gardens USA and Miss Winter Haven USA and advance to the Miss Florida USA Pageant in 2009.

Cypress Gardens has made the decision to only be open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays during September. They haven’t decided the operating schedule for October or beyond yet. Cypress Gardens Public Relations Manager Haley Kish said the decision was made after evaluating last year’s attendance figures.

Margie, Now, you know I don’t like to speak ill of people, but Aunt Biddy and Itty-Biddy are driving me plumb crazy. First, the two of them decide that we should go to this park called Cypress Gardens. It’s actually a very pretty place, but that’s not the problem.

A couple weekends ago, we went to Cypress Gardens in Winter Haven. We all had a GREAT time. I highly recommend this place if you have kids. They had LOTS of rides and rollercoasters and an awesome water park. They also have the gardens that they are famous for, but we didn't really have time this trip to check them out.
