With the IPL fever on, they now return with a movie based on the plot of betting and match fixing in cricket along with an elaborate angle of an intense love affair.

Betting on the ongoing Indian Premier League Twenty-20 cricket series has reached a fever pitch in Rawalpindi and Islamabad. As teams play in the ground, bookies rake it in. Betting is said to be monitored and controlled by kingpins based in the Middle East through their operatives in Pakistan.

One of my favourite bloggers, Amit Varma of India Uncut blogs about why its time to scrap laws against victimless crimes. He makes a passionate plea to legalise prostitution, homosexuality, drugs and betting on sports. Take me, for example: I sell my skills as a writer, limited as they are, to write pieces such as this one.

I.S. Bindra wants betting on cricket to be legalized in India. I wouldn’t have expected such a sane proposal from a person with a history of saying stupid things. But credit where credit’s due. Bravo!
