John McCain’s campaign asked a prominent Republican consultant, Craig Shirley, to leave his official campaign role Thursday after a Politico inquiry about Shirley’s dual role consulting for the campaign and for an independent 527 group opposing the Democratic presidential candidates.

McCain had to cut loose another adviser, Craig Shirley, because Shirley was moonlighting for the 527 group StopHerNow.com(soon to be StopHimNow.com). And because it apparently not self-evident to McCain’s advisers that moonlighting for a 527 is a no-no, the McCain camp has released a conflict of interest policy saying so.
