TGIF!!  Today there is a new Thomas Kinkade release at Cornish Heritage Farms, Hometown Pride.  Also available is the perfect sentiment to go along with the image, Land of the Free.   (I’ll edit in direct links once they’re up on the site.)  I am not all that familiar with Thomas Kinkade.  Of course,

This card is for the Sketch Challenge on Splitcoast Stampers and for Allison's Suggestive Sunday challenge - not colouring an image you would normally colour! A lot going on here in this card, I couldn't stop myself from stamping so I think I overdid it a wee bit!!

Time for Julia’s WT Challenge at Splitcoast! Today’s challenge is to use inchies.  If you don’t have inchies, you can use anything that’s one-inch square. {Make a Wish} I believe this little bird’s wish is that the candle doesn’t set the tree on fire.  Hmmm….

Creating a card to meet a challenge is always fun. I seem to need a purpose for my art. I've really never been the type of artist that creates for arts sake. I wish I were, but I'm not. I need a reason. And sometimes, well most times, I just have to force myself to create something.

Okay...so my DH doesn't care for this card at all. I love monochromatic cards personally, and the Thomas Kinkade images are perfect for them (IMHO). Thanks so much for the kind comments on my rather sad first attempts at this card, but I like this one SO much better. Hopefully you will too. My parents were here visiting us this past week and my mom was my sounding board and helped me get it right.

After seeing the SCS Sketch Challenge today, I knew that I wanted to play, since Amy Rysavy had given us such a great sketch with which to work. I thought about it all day at work, and when I got home, I was happy to find a delivery from Cornish Heritage Farms with this Stamp of the Month, Freedom Eagle.

My grandson Will just graduated from preschool. You know, it seems to me that he was just born yesterday! He is his mom’s youngest, so she’s mourning the passing of his “babyhood”.   And she started to talk about having another baby.
