A few months ago we at Liberty Maven interviewed B.J. Lawson following his decisive primary election victory for North Carolina’s 4th Congressional District. It is now time to continue that interview as his general election campaign continues to heat up.

47% Favor Government Mandated Political Balance on Radio, TV Nearly half of Americans (47%) believe the government should require all radio and television stations to offer equal amounts of conservative and liberal political commentary, but they draw the line at imposing that same requirement on the Internet.

In the latest poll, just 9% of American voters say Congress is doing a good or excellent job. 52% of voters say Congress is doing a poor job. Last month 11% of voters gave Congress a good or excellent rating on the job that they are doing. The percentage of Democrats who give Congress positive ratings fell from 17% last month to 13% this month.

A Constitutional amendment limiting congressional terms is vital to our nation’s future. We face the third millennium with a bankrupt country and an evaporating dollar. This is the result of years of irresponsible congressional spending—the buying of our votes with our children’s money.

There has been an overwhelming response to my blog: America needs a “New Revolution” to minimize government intrusion. It was on the topic of Congressional term limits and The Fair Tax Act. If you haven’t read it yet, feel free too. But, I do appreciate everyone who has read and commented on it.

I was listening to the radio over the weekend and couldn’t help noticing that a large amount of the ads I was hearing were automobile ads. All of these auto ads also had a common theme: you’ll save money because their cars are fuel efficient.

This Friday is the 4th of July, a day to celebrate the Independence of America from the British. Well, we need to start a “New Revolution”, a revolution to minimize the intrusion of government into our everyday lives. It is vital for the citizens of The United States of America to recognize two factors that will accomplish this: 1) We need to pass the Fair Tax Act.

One way that we can avoid all the pork barreling and all the foolish government spending is by giving our Senators 2 to maybe 4 year maximum terms. This would eliminate the politicians that make a career of their position and abuse the power that we have given them.

Vern McKinley is challenging incumbent Frank Wolf in a Republican primary next Tuesday, June 10th in Virginia’s 10th congressional district. I live in this district and have heard some seriously scary things about Frank Wolf.
