Al Horfords Rookie Year

http://mvn.com/ nba-hawks/ 2008/ 05/ 17/ al-horfords-rookie-year/
Al Horford was recently the only unanimous selection for the NBA All-Rookie team, but many people around the NBA felt he actually should have won the Rookie of the Year honors. The former Florida Gator nearly averaged a double-double in his rookie season, leading his team to the playoffs after the longest playoff droubt in the NBA. ...

Nobody Seems to Look at the Roots

    http://www.sandeepweb.com/ 2008/ 05/ 18/ nobody-seems-to-look-at-the-roots/

This blog refuses to let me have a peaceful vacation. I’m gone for four days, blasts erupt in Jaipur and the blogsphere is frenzied. Fellow-bloggers steal my thunder by taking the concerned citizens brigade apart. I’m with both Nitin and Yossarin on the useful idiots remark but my concern is more fundamental.

CAPT J. M. Van Tol on FDNF Liberty Restrictions.

I know I’m late, but a recent Proceedings Magazine article entitled “Worst Than a Crime - A Mistake” has been making the rounds of Seventh Fleet ships. It was posted in my comments, and I’ve received dozens of e-mails about it. The author, Captain J. M. van Tol (RET) was previously a skipper of the Essex and retired in 2007.

Progress for same-sex rights in Cuba

    http://paulitics.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 05/ 17/ progress-for-same-sex-rights-in-cu…

Today marked a great victory and the promise for substantial future progress for our gay brothers and lesbian sisters living in Cuba. AP reports that: “Cuba’s gay community celebrated unprecedented openness — and high-ranking political alliances — with a government-backed campaign against homophobia on Saturday.

Commentary: Thinking About a Same-Sex Marriage in California

    http://samesexmarriage.typepad.com/ weblog/ 2008/ 05/ commentary-thin.html

Link: New York Times by Kim Severson Excerpt: As soon as the California Supreme Court ruled Thursday that gay men and lesbians had a constitutional right to marry, my partner and I started getting the calls: When would we head West to get hitched? In the euphoric wake of the decision, it sure seemed like a great idea.

    May 17th vs. The Mets

Another loss for the record. And, yes, it came to the Mets. But, you know what was most distressing about this one for me today? It was a beautiful day for a baseball game. The weather was just perfect. And, the YES broadcast offered some wonderful shots in their early coverage - via both remote cameras in the stands and from the blimp, up above.

An Article by: Ben Tanosborn Last Sunday, at our annual family gathering celebrating the clan’s mothers, and their constant efforts to keep the men-folk firmly footed in reality, I assigned myself the task of counting happy and sullen faces at the reunion, excluding those of youngsters – all my

Why California Gay Marriage Ruling is Bad

    http://thesaloon.net/ blog/ _archives/ 2008/ 5/ 17/ 3696795.html

The court overturned the will of the people. Californians voted not to allow gay marriage. The people of the state voted on a referendum and the people determined they did not want to allow gay marriage and yet, a court has overturned this. The courts are in place to rule on matters of law.

Fine Evolution Post by Thinking Homeschooler Valerie Moon 17 05 2008 Science doesn’t require “belief,” it just is. Whether or not I “believe” in gravity, we’re all still stuck to the Earth. I find it hard to “believe” that energy from the sun can travel through the vacuum of space, through the
