These “diffuse emissions” account for roughly half of the CO2 that goes up into the sky every day, contributing to global warming.

This is a guest post by Meg Hamill, a freelance writer, also working at the environmental non-profit LandPaths in Sonoma County, California This summer at the University of Calgary in Canada, great strides were made in  an air capture system, built to filter CO2 emissions from diffuse sources.

The Associated Press via MSNBC (or is it the other way around?) announced yesterday the results of the first ever carbon cap-and-trade auction in the United States, which took place last Thursday, and raised $38.5 million.  The byline of the article is Albany, New York, so I’m going to go ahead and say that’s where the auction took place.
