I hadn’t planned to blog today, but earlier today, Chartroose pinged my “Batman Noir” post to tangent from as she wrote about Christian Bale and American Psycho, and now, in the truest spirit of Internet meta, I ping back to her in response, because I started to write a comment I realized might as well have been a blog on its own.

This is not a scathing review of The Dark Knight. In fact, I agree when they say that it’s the best Batman movie made till date and I actually doubt if a better movie could be made and a similar star cast be chosen again for the Batman movies.

Life seems woefully fragmented for so many people, including Christians. We have brutally compartmentalized the various facets of ourselves, drawing bold unbroken lines of distinction around our hearts, our heads and our bodies respectively.

From the time we learn any basics about novels, we learn that there has to be a conflict, right?? Otherwise, the story is just "they lived happily ever after." I have to admit, I don't like conflict in my real life. I'd be quite happy if I never faced conflict, yet I suppose that it does serve a purpose in true life much as it does in a story.
