http://newsbusters.org/ blogs/ p-j-gladnick/ 2008/ 09/ 20/ new-republic-senior-e…Jonathan! Oh Jonathan! Paging Jonathan Chait! To paraphrase a certain wide stance senator, you've been a bad boy, a naughty boy. In fact, you're probably even a nasty, bad, naughty boy. You see, you've written a long smear of Sarah Palin in the New Republic where you are The senior editor and yet a certain name was missing in your attack.

The Intersection of Rich, Out-of-Touch, and Old
http://2parse.com/ ?p=827Jonathan Chait to Matthew Yglesias in conversation over at Bloggingheads.tv, discussing McCain’s lack of awareness of the number of houses he owns: Chait: It’s right at the intersection of rich, out-of-touch, and old. It’s like the perfect - Yglesias: Right… Chait: …it’s in the perfectly overlapped center of all these things.

Sunday Bookchat
http://theopinionmill.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 07/ 27/ sunday-bookchat-36/It appears that any writer who tries to mount an attack on conservative economic doctrines must be prepared not only to stave off right-wing counterblasts, but must also put up with spitball sallies from Jonathan Chait.

Jonathan Chait: A McCain Presidency Wouldn’t Be So Bad
http://www.crooksandliars.com/ 2008/ 07/ 24/ jonathan-chait-a-mccain-presidency-…And he’s supposed to be a lefty pundit. Sometimes I think we need to clean out the whole crew. As for his substantive views, they do (now) closely resemble Bush’s. Yet the upside to a candidate who changes his philosophical orientation as often as McCain is that he could always switch back.

Jonathan Chait is an Enabler
http://www.theleftanchor.com/ 2008/ 07/ jonathan-chait.htmlJonathan Chait takes to the pages of The New Republic to defend St. John McCain against the slings and arrows of outrageous reality: [Following the 2000 primaries], McCain established himself as perhaps the country's foremost progressive champion. He was an opponent, on moral and fiscal grounds, of tax cuts that overwhelmingly benefited the rich.

When he's not pining for the fjords, Jonathan Chait, TNR's Norwegian Blue, is waxing nostalgic for his Old Flame, that crusty codger, John McCain. Makes you wonder: why are there so many dead parrots in the world these days?

More Helms
http://snunes.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 07/ more-helms_08.htmlThe problem with Jonathan Chait's brief complaint by the "conservative" whitewashing of Jesse Helms' bigotry is if it were for the racism he spewed, he would NEVER have been elected to the United Senate in the first place.

Recommended Reading (4th of July Edition)
http://boztopia.com/ ?p=187Some brief bits of reading pleasure before I go out to enjoy the holiday: California federal court judge Vaughn Walker confirmed that the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) does indeed provide the exclusive means to justify electronic surveillance of foreign nationals in the US.

Jonathan Chait
http://snunes.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 07/ jonathan-chait.htmlis deeply, deeply concerned about Obama being called a "flip-flopper," which in fact he is, but Chait is extremely concerned the truth will damage him. Actually it is less that than it is Obama simply can't be trusted with being a real Democrat. Especially considering he surrounds himself with privatizers and neocons.
