That's how Venice came to be. I liked that. The idea of smashing something old to create something new and in this case, incredible.

Le Mot Juste
http://rayrandomly.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 05/ le-mot-juste_15.htmlA completely new poem I just wrote today. Based on the myth of Narcissus, it is narrated by the river in which he drowns. "A mirror becomes a knife when it's broken. A stick becomes a flute when it's loved." -Yoko Ono, "Grapefruit." River Rising He would come to me each morning.

David With Goliath’s Head
http://www.vincesear.com/ david-with-goliaths-head/The copy of David With Goliath’s Head is complete (except for the sword). There are minor differences between my copy and the original, but that is to be expected. Overall I think got the mood of the painting just right, though I need a little work on light and shadow before I tackle Sacrifice of Isaac.

A Victorious Shepherd Boy
http://www.vincesear.com/ a-victorious-shepherd-boy/This is the second installment of the David With Goliath’s Head reproduction. I actually painted David’s face yesterday after Goliath’s head, but the hand I painted today. I also painted the rough draft of the torso, but I’m not done with it yet so I’ve excluded it.

Dead Eyes Of Caravaggio
http://www.vincesear.com/ dead-eyes-of-caravaggio/Normally I wouldn’t have shown you this until its completion but I am so pleased with it I must share. I always show unfinished paintings to friends and family as long as I am happy with the progress, so why not here? Two hours have passed and I didn’t really want to stop but I need to grab a bite to eat and another iced coffee.

Governor Sebelius continues to protect Tiller by vetoing CARA
http://catholicfire.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 05/ governor-sebelius-continues-to-prote…Via LifeNew.Com: The Kansas Senate failed by two votes to overturn a veto from pro-abortion Gov. Kathleen Sebelius on a bill that would have put several common sense abortion limits in place. The vote would have failed by one but a pro-life lawmaker was absent at the time of the debate.

“Post” postmodernism
http://weelay.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 04/ 29/ post-postmodernism/What’s this, what’s this? It’s what I’d like to know. (yeah I know, sorry I’m a rubbish photographer, I forgot my camera all weekend, no photos from the sunny lovely day.) We have been confronted with a new project at uni, and it is called “Post postmodernism”.
