A Japanese retailer event today (or tomorrow there? I don’t know…) has confirmed a few interesting details for Japanese Wii owners. They are as follows: Captain Rainbow will launch in Japan on August 28 for ¥6,800 (or $63.32 USD) Wii Music will launch in Japan on October 16 for ¥5,800 (or $54 USD).

Filed under: Nintendo DS, Nintendo Wii, Rhythm Nintendo is holding some sort of event today in Japan, far from our watchful eye. Though it may be able to hide from the Joystiq Biomass, it can't hide from the internet, as the folks at NeoGAF have once again proven.

Nintendo has revealed a strange new intellectual property for the Nintendo Wii. The game is titled “Captain Rainbow” and features 2.5d fighting mechanics similar to what is found in the Viewtiful Joe series. In addition there are exploration segments that take place on an island populated by obscure Nintendo characters such as Birdo.
