PAINTING EXHIBITION Flowers of love Dr Suvit and Khunying Songsuda Yodmani recently presided over the opening of “Flowers of Love” at the Sofitel Centara Grand. The exhibition of paintings by Chiang Mai-based artist Jay Surasen was held in memory of the late Khun Poom Jensen, the son of Princess Ubolratana.

Early Harvest, 20×20, acrylic on canvas © Michelle Basic Hendry Finally a new painting - and with a curious name in October! The harvest is certainly over…. The fields were so green that, it seemed to me, it was still mid-summer - even though I took my reference photographs in mid-September.

After returning from a teaching trip to Phoenix, Arizona I was greeted in Vermont by some of the early fall colors. I was out one day earlier this week and came upon this scene and knew immediately that this could make a great painting.

Just more of my stash that will be put away I think. Maybe some I'll keep out for little projects. This is a fraction of what is in that room! Almost all of them have roses of some sort on them. If you see anything you might like, let me know and I'll see how much of that fabric there is and we can "deal"!! LOL I truly need to "de-stash"!!!!~*~Plus I've started on my first rose canvas painting.

This week's Creative Therapy Catalyst.Working on this catalyst, was a bit difficult. I don’t talk about personal/painful things with many people, some my closest allies may not even be aware of. But I think of them often. This catalyst reminded me that is okay to have painful memories.
