I know we're about three months away from the season for candy canes, but I don't care. People have already told me they've started holiday shopping (aka, my obsessively organized friends; I don't even think about it until mid-November) so that makes candy cane cupcakes fair game, right?

Okay. So I checked my NHL Today and this was the much anticipated day where the Carolina Hurricanes would release their brand new third jersey. Now I’ve never been a fan of alternate jerseys which seem to be becoming more of a craze due to the NHL supporting the idea to make as much money as possible even if the jerseys don’t resemble anything like the more traditional home and road ones.

I thought that with all the exposing of family secrets and soul searching, we could use a little levity here in the Candy Cane Forest.  So I will now post numerous photos of my impossibly adorable children and update you on what else has been going on in our lives.  A couple of weeks ago Lolly and Frostine started first grade.

Something I've been working on is trying to spend one-on-one time with each of my kids.  Gloppy is not a problem.  Since Lolly and Frostine are in school all day, Gloppy and I get lots of time alone together.  So for him, I am doing more things that put the focus on him.

I found some tapestry needles as I was searching through my dwindling supply of yarn yesterday. I decided to take a picture, to give a visual to those of you who ask what kind of needles I use to sew in my yarn tails. These are tapestry needles size 16, about 2" long. They work well for yarn.

I make errors and this is one of those times. I let a couple of people know that I was going to try correct my error. As we all know, triangles, squares and circles can create a Motif. Well, I pronounced Motif wrong in several videos. I pronounced Amigurumi wrong earlier in the year, so it is not my first verbal error.
