I'm not really sure how this box of Tastefully Simple pound cake mix came into our house. I've had it in my room since uhh... last November?? Last Tuesday I was anticipating my Daring Bakers challenge, so I was trying to throw something together quickly for "wing night."   I dislike cake mixes.  I will be the first to admit that they can be real time savers, and I have been known to use them when I am making a wedding cake or such as that…but for the most part I dislike ingesting things that I cannot pronounce, and as a linguist, I can pronounce nearly anything.

(by Shirley McNevich) 1 box Duncan Hines yellow cake mix 1 - 3oz. box lemon Jell-O 1/2 cup canola oil 3 eggs 1 cup Domino's powdered sugar 1/2 cup lemon juice In a mixer add cake mix, eggs and canola oil--beat. Add Jell-O powder--beat until smooth. Pour batter into greased 9 x 13 cake pan.

These are so quick and yummmy! 1 yellow cake mix 1 tsp vanilla 1/3 cup vegetable oil 2 eggs 1/2 cup sugar 2 tsp ground cinnamon Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Mix sugar and cinnamon and set aside. Mix cake mix, vanilla, oil and eggs until a dough consistency. Shape into 1 inch balls.

There are so many things you can do with a cake mix. Every Saturday for several weeks I will be posting a new recipe using a cake mix. These are quick and simple but your family will enjoy the "homemade from scratch" desserts.
