The Bucs are going to have to make a decision at fullback here in the next day or two. Jon Gruden doesn’t sound optimistic about Byron Storer’s availability for the Seattle game and B.J. Askew will definitely still be out.

I know I’ve derided the “Round up”-type posts in the past, but the fact is that there are some items that really just don’t deserve their own entry and putting the full-entry effort into them would be a real, measurable waste of time.

Poor John Lynch. Ever since the Patriots cut him before the season opener, he’s been bouncing off walls trying to keep himself occupied. Lynch took his first piano lesson the other day. He’s finally eating ice cream. He’s watching every possible football game on TiVo. He’s volunteering at his kids’ school.

Everyone give a special thanks to Martin Gramatica whose blocked and missed field goals were the difference in a game where the Saints dominated the Vikings in every facet of the game. Except, you know, the score. This loss keeps the Saints at the bottom of the NFC South and prevents a three-way tie for the spot behind the Panthers.

I don’t really lament losing Michael Pittman in the offseason. The Bucs have an excellent stable of running backs if someone would just use them to their potential. But I always liked Pittman’s team-first attitude and his running style. Not much has changed since he switched uniforms.

I received a press release from Chidi Ahanotu’s partner at Magellan Entertainment, Bobby Mahal, with an update on Ahanotu’s legal issues. Well, it wasn’t so much an update as it was an exhaustive and biased timeline on everything Ahanotu has done in the past two years.

I have no idea why USA Today is running a Mike Alstott interview and retrospective now. There are no plugs in there for a new business venture or even a charity thing he’s doing. Apparently the editor just said, “Pick your favorite player and write a piece on him.” So Skip Wood did.
