The blog actually turned four yesterday, but I didn't remember until today. Oops! Here is the very first post on Booker Rising. Since May 11, 2004, the blog's readership has grown, I've appeared on local and national radio shows, and the blog has gotten coverage in local national newspapers and magazines.

I make my fifth appearance today on "News & Notes", as part of a black bloggers roundtable. Farai Chideya is the host. I will appear along with Jay Andersen of Average Bro blog and Meji Alabi of Anything Black blog. We are scheduled to discuss Sen. Hillary Clinton's claim that Sen.

Tomorrow I'm going to my 15-year-old cousin's funeral, as she died late last week from an asthma attack. I'm not sure if I will post.

2 days of pure hell, and with virtually no sleep. I'd rather undergo surgery again than have the stomach flu. I'm still not quite over it, but the worst seems to be behind me...

My regular readers may remember that some weeks ago, I said that I will be undergoing a hysterectomy soon to eliminate submucosal fibroids, the severe (and sometimes life-threatening) anemia that I've experience from them, & other complications. Tomorrow, the surgery will be done on me.

I have to take care of an emergency issue, and I probably won't have time to post today. Have a good day, everyone!
