GadgetFreedom User Group
http://www.coffee.geek.nz/ content/ 080828/ gadgetfreedom-user-groupA (very) small group of Wellingtonians met last night at mojo bond street, to discuss how and what to plan for a Gadgets user group. The overall theme was doing things. Be that just learning how to make your bluetooth go, through to learning every possible thing you can do with bluetooth, through to building your own gadgets.

PSP Fanboy review: N+
http://www.pspfanboy.com/ 2008/ 08/ 28/ psp-fanboy-review-n/Filed under: Reviews, N Beneath its simple exterior lies a cruel, sadistic gaming beast. N+ is known for its brutally simple, addictive, ninja-inspired platforming. The goal of the game is ridiculously simple: get to the exit. However, each level in this challenging title will test your nerve and will push you to that strange land where frustration and euphoria meet.

Age-old debate: Joystick versus other controllers
http://www.re-retro.com/ 2008/ 08/ 28/ age-old-debate-joystick-versus-other-cont…I’ve been a big fan of joysticks since I first took hold of that shaft attached to a flat box which made up the main controller for the Atari 2600. This healthy respect for the joystick as a video game controller went up a notch in the late 80s when arcades started sprouting in my corner of the world.

… next up - Breakaway …
http://armanbohn.com/ blog/ 2008/ 08/ 27/ next-up-breakaway/I’ve been kabooming “Kaboom!” in my spare time for a couple weeks now and I’m almost ready to move on. Everyday, I come home and get just a little more done. Next up on the list is the song “Breakaway”. I play acoustic guitar on this one. It is one of the more mellow songs on the record.

Haha! I suck at Space Invaders, too
http://www.re-retro.com/ 2008/ 08/ 28/ haha-i-suck-at-space-invaders-too/What a surprise! I’ve just discovered that I suck at Space Invaders, a couple of days after learning that Frogger isn’t as easy to play now as it was back in the 80s. It’s a surprise because I play Chicken Invaders, an arcade-like PC game that parodies Space Invaders.

http://armchairarcade.com/ neo/ node/ 1947The Great Videogame Crash - 1983 or 1984? The Final Word. Wed, 08/27/2008 - 6:11pm — Bill Loguidice I just wanted to comment quick on “The Great Videogame Crash” (my personal official designation, along with my preferred use of "videogame" over "video game", just like "bodybuilding" over "body building") and sort of vet my thought process for public discussion and potential disagreement.

Down Memory Arcade
http://neverneutral.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 08/ 28/ down-memory-arcade/Oh, My, God. do you remember...?I just found out that my local has a Dig Dug arcade machine. Just the sight of it sent me back what, 25 years? You see, I must have played it for the first time when it came out, in 1982, so that means I was 7 (yes, I’m that old!).

DS Fanboy Review: N+
http://www.dsfanboy.com/ 2008/ 08/ 27/ ds-fanboy-review-n/Filed under: ReviewsMetanet's N is a game in which the player is tasked with running very quickly through obstacles and jumping with high levels of precision in order to reach the exit door. It takes place in small, self-contained levels, uses simple, clean graphics, and has no real story to remember.
