Time has been a precious resource during this trip to Australia so far, and will probably continue to be so when we mve on to Singapore tomorrow for the ICTLT. The days have been very full and the evenings have been no different.

I am soooo tired, and soooo pleased. I am here in New Zealand travelling with a group of exceptional educators. The conversations we are having are ‘worth bottling’! We talk about what we are seeing, what we are doing, and what we are dreaming. The clever three are on this tour.

Al Upton and his Principal meet today with representatives from DECS (Department of Education and Children Services) and AEU (Australian Education Union) to discuss the report prepared by DECS Special Investigations and what needs to be done to get the Al’s students blogs back online.

It has been a sad few weeks since my last post. The situation with Al Upton and his mini-legends drags on and because we are in holidays, little has been resolved. In a skype conversation with Al and Sue Waters and Anne Murchison, he was understandably dispirited.

We were very fortunate to have Sue Waters as a guest for EC&I 831 last Wednesday (March 19/08). Sue had previously written a post related to the order for closure for Al Upton’s MiniLegends classroom blog. EC&I 831 was very interested in hearing more. We used Skype to mediate the conversation, and the result was streamed via Ustream.

 Anne Mirtschin, a teacher at Hawkesdale P12 College, in country western Victoria, Australia, has just posted about another Australian Blog closure. It seems that an early childhood centre blog has been asked to close due to photographic content being in the public domain.
