Swan Budget I
http://avatarbriefs.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 05/ swan-budget-i.htmlHo hum. Guess we have to do this. The first Rudd/Swan budget. Not announced yet and no leaks from Treasury this year, as the government has been doing its own leaking - it's called spin & softening-up the punters, trickle, trickle, trickle, trickle.

Different dog, different tricks
http://www.greyleads.com/ current-affairs/ different-dog-different-tricks/The change of government in Canberra has brought a marked change in rhetoric that has been stemming from Canberra. This is not overly suprising, I suppose. A change in government generally means a changed country. The stamp that the new Labor government has left is already significant.

ALP and the Unions
http://www.rightpulse.com/ archives/ 88Well you maybe aware of the drama that has unfolded in NSW regarding the ALP privatisation of the electricity utilities and the union opposition to it. NSW Privatsiation dispute -- unions threaten industrial action

Gippsland by-election part 3
http://alexschlotzer.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 05/ 09/ gippsland-by-election-part-3/With the announcement that the by-election will be held at the end of June, the campaigning has stepped up a notch. One of the most notable things about this campaign has been what the mainstream media has (or hasn’t) been saying about the campaign.

Boring Bullies
http://undeadfiles.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 05/ boring-bullies.html1. Boring I am underwhelmed yet not surprised. The WA Budget was largely predictable and left a lot to be desired. Basically a big stamp duty cut, a footy field and a bail out. No funding to fix up PMH and no obvious funding for a pay rise for teachers. The teachers pay rise no-show may hurt them.
