Jakob Dylan just released his first video from his latest cd, “Seeing Things” entitled, “Evil is Alive and Well.”  I would have prefered to see a video of Jakob but he went for a cartoon version.

Debut Author of the Month: Daphne Grab... First-time author Daphne Grab's novel, Alive and Well in Prague, New York was an early June release from HarperTeen. The book's main character, Matisse Oswood, has a lot to adjust to.

Episodes like today make me understand that some people actually do vote UDC here. NH was minding his bizness in H&M today waiting in line when the dog of the couple waiting behind him started nosing around in the grocery bag.

2K8ers love a good blog party, but nothing beats a debut author's first real world launch party! I had my book party (Alive and Well in Prague New York) at the wonderful Bank Street Bookstore in my neighborhood in Manhattan. Friends and family braved fierce heat to come out and help me celebrate.

As promised, We're here with Daphne Grab asking all sort of questions about what being a debut author is all about! So, where do you do most of your writing? What's it look like? (maybe include a picture if you can get it!) My bedroom! Our NYC apartment is big enough for our family of four (barely!) but there are no extras, like say, a study or a living room big enough for a desk.

May 5th . May 5, 2004 was a Wednesday. It was quite possibly, the longest day in my life. It was certainly one of the worst. I hope you'll read about it here . I'm struggling on the memory front tonight. I have so many, but they all feel blurred together. I'm scared that I'm losing my memories of him.
