    How to: AirTunes without AirPort

    http://rolf.haynberg.de/ ?p=14

How to: AirTunes without AirPort July 22nd, 2008 This how-to describes how to set up a linux (or mac or even windows) machine to serve as a sound client for your mac so that it will play any sound from your mac over network. For example you can sit on the couch with your MacBook on your lap and don’t have to shredder your music with these tiny internal speakers.

    5 days with a new iPhone 3G

    http://www.elvis-in-vegas.com/ blog/ 2008/ 07/ 20/ 5-days-with-a-new-iphone-3g/

Semi stream of consciousness thoughts on the highlights and lowlights of the new iPhone 3G, from a new iPhone owner. Glitches:   ”Sync w/ Google Contacts” - this isn’t a sync, it’s a “duplicate” function.

    Whole home audio for $300

    http://www.usabilityrants.org/ ?p=82

In my previous post, I mentioned how excited I was about the Apple Remote software for the iPhone 2.0 platform (old and new iPhones, iPod Touch).  Today I finally got around to buying two additional AirPort Expresses to add to a bedroom and the living room stereos.

Getting Verizon’s Actiontec to play nice with Airport Express

    http://gravitationalpull.net/ wp/ ?p=369

With Apple’s new Remote App for the iPhone and iPod Touch, the teeming masses who couldn’t afford hyper-expensive schemes (cough - Sonos - cough) to connect their digital music collections to their stereos suddenly had an alternative. If you load Remote onto your iPod, you can control iTunes on the Mac in your office from the couch in your living room.

Useful info getting out on new iPhone apps like e-reader

    http://gravitationalpull.net/ wp/ ?p=361

The iPhone coverage tsunami continues unabated and, thanks to the long-tail of new media and blogging, we can find people writing about just those aspects of this mega-story that we find most interesting. For example, the What’s on iPhone blog has a lengthy review up of the new Fictionwise e-book reader for iPhones and iPods Touch.

    My new iPhone 3G

    http://www.themostreadpage.com/ apple/ my-new-iphone-3g/

At the second trial, after more than 3 hours of line (it wasn’t even morning… i went at the apple store at 3.45pm) I got my new iPhone 3G. I love it, 3G is blazing fast, iPhone Apps are awesome (I was expecting more free ones tho). One of the applications is kinda an answer to old post about airTunes over the iPhone, and it’s called Remote.

A cool feature idea for the iPhone 3.0

    http://www.joshourisman.com/ 2008/ 07/ 11/ a-cool-feature-idea-for-the-iphone-30…

Yeah, yeah, 3 posts about the iPhone in two days, and you still can’t even buy the 3G iPhone yet! But I was taking advantage of the new iTunes remote last night as we had some company and so were in the living room and wanted music playing there without having to go into the office to mess with the computer.

    First Look: Remote

    http://www.iphoneunity.com/ ?p=276

Apple has a treat waiting for all you iPhone/iPod touch owners who also happen to be iTunes users (I imagine there is a high level of overlap between the two groups): Remote. Remote is a free application that turns your iPhone (or iPod touch) into a remote control for iTunes.

How To Set Up iPhone Exchange ActiveSync

    http://blog.fosketts.net/ 2008/ 07/ 10/ how-to-set-up-iphone-exchange-activesync…

It’s finally here!  The iPhone now has most of the functions of the BlackBerry - over-the-air push and sync of Exchange email, contacts, and calendars!  Apple let the 2.0 OS out of the bag earlier today, and intrepid souls (and me) have taken the plunge and installed it.
