Mozilla Ubiquity
http://danbri.org/ words/ 2008/ 08/ 28/ 369The are some interesting things going on at Mozilla Labs. Yesterday, Ubiquity was all over the mailing lists. You can think of it as “what the Humanized folks did next”, or as a commandline for the Web, or as a Webbier sibling to QuickSilver, the MacOSX utility. I prefer to think of it as the Mozilla add-on that distracted me all day.

CrunchBase Interview
http://bnode.org/ blog/ 2008/ 08/ 27/ crunchbase-interviewSemantic CrunchBase seems to be worth the time I'm putting into it. Thanks to TechCrunch's and CrunchBase' great move to open their data and encourage reuse (and writing about the apps that use their API), I've had the chance to do a couple of SemWeb demos and reach out to the audience that could benefit as much (or maybe even more) from RDF & Co.

A Faceted Browser for ARC
http://bnode.org/ blog/ 2008/ 08/ 11/ a-faceted-browser-for-arcI'm going on vacation in a couple of days, and before that, I'm trying to tick off at least a few of the bigger items on my ToDo list. I was hoping for a first Trice preview (now that ARC is slowly getting stable), but this will have to wait until September.

Semantic Web by Example: Semantic CrunchBase
http://bnode.org/ blog/ 2008/ 07/ 29/ semantic-web-by-example-semantic-crunchbas…This post is a bit late (I've even been TechCrunch'd already), but I wanted to add some features before I fully announce "Semantic CrunchBase", a Linked Data version of CrunchBase, the free directory of technology companies, people, and investors. CrunchBase recently activated an awesome API, with the invitation to build apps on top of it.

SPARQLScript - Semantic Mashups made easy
http://bnode.org/ blog/ 2008/ 07/ 16/ sparqlscript-semantic-mashups-made-easyWhat is a scripting language without loops, or a Web language without a template mechanism? Not really usable. Yesterday, I finally added the two missing core features to my SPARQLScript processor, and I'm excited about eventually being able to test the whole thing.

lcsh.info SPARQL endpoint
http://inkdroid.org/ journal/ 2008/ 07/ 07/ lcshinfo-sparql-endpoint/I’ve set up a SPARQL endpoint for lcsh.info at sparql.lcsh.info. If you are new to SPARQL endpoints, they are essentially REST web services that allow you to query a pool of RDF data using a query language that combines features of pattern matching, set logic and the web, and then get back results in a variety of formats.

SPO(G) in ARC
http://bnode.org/ blog/ 2008/ 07/ 03/ spog-in-arcThe Urban Dictionary describes SPOG as "super pimped out gangsta" or as "a weapon that (...) had a fusion reactor as a power source". Sorry to disappoint you, neither has become part of ARC. Nevertheless, the SPOG I mean is quite powerful, too.
