It was an exciting night throughout the system. Brian Cartie and Joe Mather provide late inning heroics for Palm Beach and Memphis, respectively. Quad Cities win on only two hits and the VSL Cardinals tally their first victory of the season. Meanwhile, there is no joy in Springfield as the Cardinals drop their seventh in a row.

Rockies Run wrote an interesting post today and shared it with the world. Here’s a quick excerpt Wilson (1-0) turned in a strong outing to earn the win for Quad Cities in just his first start and second appearance since joining the club from Extended Spring Training on May 5.

Springfield’s Luke Gregerson had a birthday he would soon rather forget while Tommy Pham had one his best days as a professional. Palm Beach rallied to overcome an early deficit while the Quad Cities swept its doubleheader with help from Pham. Memphis had the day off and the VSL Cardinals remain winless.

In death, a new theater group is born in the Quad Cities. Elegies: A Song Cycle marks the debut production of the new Riverbend Theatre Collective. Being a song cycle, Elegies does not follow a plot. It’s a series of songs, each in and of itself a little story, with the central theme being death, memories of loved ones dying.

Rumors hit the forums today stating “The Dentist” would be back in action September 17th.  Neer (24-6-1) has won seven out of his last eight fights including his last win over veteran Din Thomas. Thomas was released from the UFC after a poor perfomance and a loss to Neer.
