Zoho Now Accepts Google & Yahoo Logins

    http://cybernetnews.com/ 2008/ 05/ 14/ zoho-now-accepts-google-yahoo-logins/

Zoho took a pretty big leap today, and it will likely pay off in big ways for them. What they decided to do is leverage Google and Yahoo’s rapidly growing user base to help attract new users. How so? Instead of having to create a Zoho account new (and existing) users can simply login using their Google or Yahoo credentials.

..and removes one major entry barrier to try out the product. This is a smart move by Zoho, since their end goal is not to get maximum number of users in their DB, but to increase the tryout numbers.

    Buzzword, Adobe’s online word processor

    http://jiboneus.com/ 2008/ 05/ 13/ buzzword-adobes-online-word-processor/

Remember Writely? The little online web based word processor, one of Web2.0 darlings. Google had acquired Writely, incorporating it into their line of web based office suite, Google Docs. Web based apps are the future. Few software based companies had notice this trend and are experimenting with web technologies and the possibilities.

    We owe Zoho big time

    http://www.alishabdar.com/ 2008/ 05/ 07/ we-owe-zoho-big-time/

Few weeks ago I rediscovered Zoho! I saw it before but the urge of trying an online office never occurred to me. It’s been sometime that we were facing difficulties keeping our alternative property listing updated where we had the latest updates.

Zoho - Your online office just got better…and more secure!

    http://collinturner.com/ pile/ ?p=68

I LOVE Zoho.com Their applications stomp the eyes off Google’s, hands down. Now they seem to have pretty much put SSL across all of their apps. This is a MUCH NEEDED upgrade. A secure layer on top of their online applications? That’s about the only thing that’s been holding me back from moving everything over (except email…sorry, Gmail is still king).

Working virtually can be a challenge when it comes to managing diaries, checking email (both yours and your clients), sharing files and details of contacts, etc. Wouldn’t it be lovely if it could all be in one place where both you and your clients, and your associates if you have them, could access what you need, when you need it, anywhere in the world from any computer? Now you can.

Zoho wants to be the IT dept for SMBs and unless they match (and go beyond) the existing product’s (i.e. MS Office) features, they won’t be noticed. Zoho team today launched couple of new features like macro support and pivot tables to the zoho-sheet, which potentially takes the product to a diff.
