    Interviewing People

    http://scrapsofmama.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 05/ interviewing-people.html

We're setting up a new company, and we need people to hire people. I had to rush interviews, i.e., squeeze most of them in today at the last minute, because I'm leaving for the States in a couple of days.

    Time to do the Maths

    http://gaianeconomics.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 05/ time-to-do-maths.html

The last estimate for the amount of public money going to Northern Rock was £50bn. For that price we've bought ourselves a bankrupt bank. It isn't clear how many of the other banks are also teetering on the brink but the government is sufficiently concerned to oblige us to buy their worthless assets (euphemistically known as 'mortgage-backed securities') to the the tune of another £100bn.

    http://www.slashfilm.com/ 2008/ 05/ 17/ prince-caspian-headed-to-disappointing-5…

The early Friday night box office estimates are in,  and Disney’s The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian failed to match the opening of 2005’s The Lion, The Witch & the Wardrobe. Caspian took in $18M on Friday, and is looking at a $51 million weekend, almost 25% less than the previous film in the series.

While Hank Steinbrenner can shoot off his mouth all he wants these days, every now and then, a piece comes along that reminds us of the checks and balances in the Yankee organization. This time, we’ve got Kat O’Brien talking with a measured and calm Hal Steinbrenner.

    Liquid Powered Clock

    http://www.gizmosforgeeks.com/ 2008/ 05/ 17/ liquid-powered-clock/

This is an awesome invention that is great for the environment. This product does not use batteries or electricity. You simply use water, juice, or any other liquid that is an electrolytic fluid. You never have to worry about having enough batteries or the electricity going off and having to reset your clock all the time.
