I have got to tell you, this really woke me up before having my coffee. What is potentially a touch screen BlackBerry, the BlackBerry Thunder, has been outed in a rumor. The device, which is of the model number 9500, will be all touch, with no physical keyboard.

The big news in the wireless industry recently has been the consortium of companies that have come together to invest in Sprint and Clearwire’s WiMAX build-out.  The news has generated a lot of positive buzz for WiMAX, which has generally been taking a beating in the press this year.

Sprint is merging its WiMax Xohm business with Clearwire in a $3.2 billion investment backed by Google, Comcast, Intel, Time Warner Cable and others in a move to save the technology in the U.S. The deal originally fell apart last November but we thought some investors would come forward.

Nokia Siemens Networks and Mobilkom Austria has succesfully tested the new I-HSPA (Internet High Speed Packet Access) which offers 10.1Mbps speeds on data calls, which is great enough till we wait to 2010 for the so-called LTE (Long Term Evolution) technology with 173Mbps (Wow!) as peak rate one kilometer away.
