XSketch is a new Ajax/javascript game that lets up to seven users play pictionary with each other. One person gets a word and starts drawing, the other users guess. If someone gets it right, both the drawer and the guesser get points. This is the third game created by Ryan Dewsbury on the Google Web Toolkit (he also wrote a book on the subject).

Many college students (but few others) will recognize the Risk-like game known as Turf that pits thousands of students against each other in a weeks-long online wargame that is similar to the board game Risk, but uses the college campus as the map.

I'm planning to write up another game over the weekend (hopefully by Sunday!), but I'm going to take a suggestion skrumgaer made on the KDice forum and post the starting board of the game so people can predict how the game will turn out.

Due to an unfortunate oversight, I didn't record the board prior to the first move of the game, but it was a brown 3-stack taking out a green 2-stack, as you can see in the image below. Anyway, on to the strength of the starting positions. 001 Brown: Fair.

Recently, I have been moderately hooked on a "new" game - Kdice. It is modified somewhat from Dicewars which utilizes the concepts found in the popular board game RiskRisk game. I have been a great fan of Risk so it did not take me too long to warm to Kdice. You play this game via your browser and no program installation is required.
