Newest Visitor: Indigo Bunting

I'm quite excited about this one; we never had one before! We actually have two of them that hover in a tree in our backyard. Yesterday during the rain and the terrible wind, this little fella just hung out at our feeders all day long.

I got up at 7:30 as I do every Saturday, let the doggies out, and then started hanging my feeders. On my second trip to the tree, I saw movement through the treeline that separates our yard from the neighboors.

The skies began to clear last evening so I took a walk. As I approached the top of a hill, I saw a large bird which flew to a tall poplar. I walked toward the top and looked again at the poplar since I hadn't seen a bird fly off.
