Seems like my last post, "Obama Caint Choose Kaine", riled some folks up. Erin Kotecki Vest, who blogs at BlogHer and Queen of Spain, got on my case with several arguments worthy of response. I have great respect for Erin, and am pleased for this excuse to congratulate her in public on becoming BlogHer's Producer of Special Projects (high five here!).

Is a trend forming in First Amendment free-speech cases in Connecticut? It certainly seems that way. Last week, a jury returned a verdict in favor of Andrea Charron in her lawsuit against the Town of Griswold. The jury awarded damages in excess of $800,000 (not including punitive damages and attorneys fees).

Sunflowers for Wishes I'll be out of town next week so yesterday I headed up to Buttonwood Farms in Griswold for a sneak peek of "Sunflowers for Wishes". The owners of Buttonwood Farms plant 10 acres of sunflowers each year providing 300,000 blooms framed by blue skies and stone walls.

From my review of Christianist organizations' websites for a number of years, it has long been evident to me that gays are not the only targets in the Christianist agenda to implement a Taliban-like legal structure to bar all citizens from exercising rights and choices not supported by the Christianists' warped, intolerant religious views.
