Mozilla Launches Geode for Location Management in Firefox

    http://mashable.com/ 2008/ 10/ 07/ firefox-geode-location/

Want your Firefox 3 browser to be location-savvy? Mozilla is making that possible with the release of Geode, an “experimental Firefox add-on” intended as something of a holdover until Firefox 3.1 arrives with support for the W3C Geolocation Specification.

Geode Brings Location Awareness To Firefox Posted by Adam Pash at 5:00 AM on October 8, 2008 Firefox only (Windows/Mac/Linux): Firefox extension Geode adds experimental geolocation features to your browser. Done well, that could make a big difference: You've arrived in a new city, a new continent, a new coffee shop.

Firefox only (Windows/Mac/Linux): Firefox extension Geode adds experimental geolocation features to your browser. We've already seen how a location-aware iPhone can change your life, and the idea is very much the same with Geode. You’ve arrived in a new city, a new continent, a new coffee shop.

Firefox Mobile is weeks away from alpha

    http://www.boygeniusreport.com/ 2008/ 10/ 07/ firefox-mobile-is-weeks-away-from-…

Codenamed Fennec, Firefox Mobile is probably one of the most eagerly anticipated mobile apps around. We’ve seen the concept video and it looks awesome yet we know it will be even more game-changing once a release version emerges.

Update: Mozilla Mobile To Hit Alpha Within Weeks

    http://www.inquisitr.com/ 4706/ update-mozilla-mobile-to-hit-alpha-within-weeks/…

Mozilla’s mobile browser, long-under-development with the codename Fennec, should be available in alpha release within a matter of weeks. Engineers released Milestone 8 of the tool at the end of September and have previously said the utility will be finished and ready for use by early 2009.

    Bleg: Firefox Eating Pictures!

    http://www.outsidethebeltway.com/ archives/ bleg_firefox_eating_pictures/

Since installing Firefox 3.03 recently, I’ve noted that images on OTB display only intermittently.  I thought I had solved the problem by clearing the cache but it has now reappeared.   Others have noted the same problem with Firefox.

The Browser Search War Winners, or The Column I Didn't Want You to Read

    http://www.marketersstudio.com/ 2008/ 10/ the-browser-sea.html

So a funny thing happened on the way to publication. I wrote the column below Sunday night. I didn't even finish it. As I wrapped it up, I felt like it was really all about Firefox, and the rest of it didn't matter, and there wasn't too much of what's new here. So I wrote another column.

RELEASE: Firefox Mobile ready to rumble before year's end?

It became somewhat silent about Mozilla's Firefox Mobile (code-named "Fennec"), development and except some concept studies, the Mozilla Foundation hasn't unveiled too much about its upcoming/planned Firefox version for smartphones which will also supports Windows Mobile.

Make Ubiquity More Ubiquitous [Featured Windows Download]

    http://lifehacker.com/ 5060032/ make-ubiquity-more-ubiquitous

Software engineer and Lifehacker reader William Bartholomew loves previously mentioned Firefox extension Ubiquity, but would prefer it were a bit more... well, ubiquitous. One of the biggest limitations I see is that its keyboard shortcut is only available from within Firefox; I really want to be able to invoke it from whatever application I’m currently using.
