As things become more obvious to some...

The Great Emergence Book Review
http://jonathanbrink.com/ 2008/ 10/ 07/ the-great-emergence-book-review/Summary: Phyllis Tickle’s, The Great Emergence is my choice for book of the year in 2008. Tickle carefully crafts the historical shifts and tipping points leading up to what she calls a rummage sale on the church. She answers three questions: What Is It, How did it come to be, and Where is it

The Great Emergence - with the greatest respect, I demur
http://alternativeworship.org/ paulsblog/ ?p=252Perhaps the most well-announced book to be published this year in the American Christian book market, especially in Emerging circles, is The Great Emergence, by Phyllis Tickle. It’s published by the Emergent Village imprint of Baker Books, so comes as the latest in a highly marketable succession of titles.

Stuff your labels!
http://markjberry.blogs.com/ way_out_west/ 2008/ 10/ stuff-your-labe.htmlI've ignored the who "should be still call it emerging/emergent" debate as tbh It's largely irrelevant to me... it's much more about ideas, friendships and networks than it is about labels... I still nod happily when reading Tom Sine's observations of emerging in "The New Conspirators" ...

10 Terms I'm Dumping Along with "Emerging Church"
http://www.parablesofaprodigalworld.com/ 2008/ 10/ 10-terms-im-dumping-along-wit…Brother Maynard sums up the issue better than most. The term "Emerging Church" is dead. Good riddance, I say. Too misunderstood. Too much reading into it. Too ill-defined. Too much having to defend the term against what it isn't.
