I’ve blogged about Elite Retreat many times, because it has changed my life significantly more than once.   So when I saw Keith’s post about Reasons Not To Go To a4uexpo, I decided I would sponsor someone’s trip to a conference — someone for whom, like me 2 years ago, it could be the tipping point that moves them from day job to 100% online.

The first key to making money online is to just get started.  You can read until you’re blue in the face and not learn 10% of what you will be just getting out and doing it. The second key is to go deep.

“Breathtaking”, “Charming”, “Peaceful”, “Relaxing”, “Exclusive”, are just a few adjectives to describe; ‘The Flint House’ an elite private retreat that truly deserves to be called “Paradise”. This exquisite home is situated on 9 acres of pristine beach/oceanfront property.

Elite Retreat is a very unique search marketing conference. It is a small scale brain storming session with a lot of big names. Attendance is capped at 35 people and it costs $4,950 USD which is quite a bit for 2 days.

That’s my wife and me to the right just a few hours after arriving in San Francisco for Elite Retreat, and that photo was taken at almost exactly the time that she asked me a question that started giving me a whole new perspective on things: Are you having fun? Despite the pained look on my face in that photo, I was indeed having a great time.

We were riding back from dinner at a really fancy restaurant. Neil was about as impressed with the fancy food as I was. On the way back to the hotel in the H2 Limos provided by elite retreat somehow we got on the subject of AMEX cards. A few us us all had the Business Platinum card, but Neil was pressured into whipping out his black AMEX card.

The 2008 Elite Retreat event is already over. This years event was truly different. It was the first one that was 100% operated by the “ShoeMoney” staff and wow its not easy ;). Tigh did a awesome job coordinating everything and Dr. David Klein also stepped in and helped us out a lot.

All attendees were picked up by a stretch limo.  We arrived to the brand new Intercontinental in style.  My room was on a high floor in the corner, we had beautiful views of San Francisco. The night before things started we had a networking cocktail, I made a lot of friends and met a lot of nice
