The Quest for the Perfect Blogging Client on Mac I’ve been searching for a desktop blogging client for approximately six months on my Macbook. I know many beginning bloggers just use the online editor found in their blogging software, but trust me on this one, using a desktop client will not only make you a better blogger, it will save you time, frustration, broken computer screens.

I had been using Marsedit for nearly everything that goes up on all my blogs, including this one of course, and while I was really pleased with the minimalistic design and thoughtful touches throughout, I just downloaded ecto3 tonight. While I haven’t actually used older versions of ecto, this version (although still technically in beta) is suberb.

I’m back to version 2 of Ecto, the Mac blog editor. Again. A couple of months ago I posted what I didn’t like about Ecto3 Alpha. Some of my suggestions became features, but there still a LOT of work to be done. Here is my list for Ecto 3 beta: 1) It was #3 in my previous list: I can’t find how to customize the template for tags.

Little annoyances Twhirl on OS X refuses to remember the configuration option NOT to play sounds when new messages arrive, between restarts anyway. My Facebook profile sometimes doesn’t load, I just get a blank page.

Glitch: Blogger and Ecto Posted on December 5, 2007 by Dannie I am having a slight technical problem with uncondition since this morning when during the wee hours I updated ecto and lost in the process a whole bunch of drafts that include a good part of Parallax III that I had offline.
