Goodbye DreamHost
http://www.jasonbartholme.com/ goodbye-dreamhost/Well, after endless ranting and frustration, I have finally moved my blog off of the DreamHost servers and over to Media Temple. So far, I’m quite impressed with their service but it remains to be seen on how they hold up when a post goes popular on a social bookmarking site.

a note to myself
http://leonineponderances.com/ blog/ 2008/ 05/ 14/ a-note-to-myself/For #13 on my list which is organizing photos, there was a question of what kind of “storage” to use for digital photos. External hard drives fail. Media fails or gets scratched. So what then? Answer: Dreamhost’s Files Forever. For 1c/4 megs, they’ll store files indefinitely (for as long as they offer the service).

Self-Hosted and all in one piece
http://toddjordan.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 05/ 13/ self-hosted-and-all-in-one-piece/…Last night The Broad Brush moved to self-hosting mode. It is now hosted at Dreamhost and running WordPress 2.5.1. There were minimal issues moving to the new platform but all of the posts, pages and comments made it. I’m looking forward to enjoying the site more as the blog publisher and hopefully you’ll enjoy it more too.

HostPapa, HostGator, DreamHost, GoDaddy & 1and1 Comparison - First Uptime Results
http://www.thewebhostinghero.com/ articles/ hostpapa-hostgator-dreamhost-godaddy…The first uptime results for my comparison between five of the most popular web hosts are in. I’ve got myself a web hosting account with HostGator, HostPapa, 1and1, GoDaddy and Dreamhost so I could see what it really is to host with them. Since then, I’ve monitored their servers using WhatsUp Gold from IpSwitch.

Project Wonderful
http://www.hd-trailers.net/ blog/ 2008/ 05/ 11/ project-wonderful/So I’ve gotten around to trying a new ad system: Project Wonderful. I first heard about it on Real Life Comics and decided to look into it. Also the fact that there was some way to get ads into my RSS feeds sounded interesting.

SLOW! SLOW! SLOW!
http://www.furuanimepanikku.com/ 2008/ 05/ 11/ slow-slow-slow/Lately, the connection speeds to this website has been really pathetic, often resulting in timeouts. I can’t even connect to the dashboard, or for that matter, anything hosted on the same server. This really sucks, and my mood to blog has been more or less killed by the connection speed.
