Ambiorix Burgos’ Season on DL Worsens With Allegations October 3rd, 2008 Ambiorix Burgos’ season on DL worsens with allegations. A New York Mets pitcher is due in court Oct. 23 after authorities in the Dominican Republic accused him of hitting two women, who later died, with his SUV.

Ambiorix Burgos, a 24-year old pitcher who came up with the Kansas City Royals in 2005 is now a wanted man by authorities in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic (link). Police say that Burgos was driving his new Hummer SUV when he hit two women and fled the crime scene. A few hours later, both women died from their injuries.
