ACC baseball power poll — April 28
http://accnation.com/ 2008/ 04/ 28/ acc-baseball-power-poll-april-28/Virginia took the largest drop this week and, if I could have justified it, I would have dropped them farther. If it wasn’t for Clemson, UVa. would be the most disappointing team in the ACC this year. Sure, the Cavaliers have 32 wins overall and a winning record in the conference, but they haven’t won a series from a quality opponent yet.

ACC Nation baseball power poll - April 21
http://accnation.com/ 2008/ 04/ 21/ acc-nation-baseball-power-poll-april-21/Here is the power poll for this week. We had our first tie of the season, with Clemson and Duke getting rained out in the 11th inning Sunday with the scored tied at six. What’s wrong with Clemson? Weren’t the Tigers supposed to be good? Is it just that I haven’t paid attention much before this week, or does Duke have a potent offense? The Devils scored 22, 16 and 10 in games this week.

ACC tennis championships
http://accnation.com/ 2008/ 04/ 20/ acc-tennis-championships/The word is upset. First there was sixth-seed Florida State knocking off third-seed Miami. Then there’s stunning upset. Fourth-seed Clemson shutdown top-seed Georgia Tech to move into the women’s ACC tennis championship against Duke.

Just in time for the pope, a fresh batch of deacons!
http://deacbench.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 04/ just-in-time-for-pope-fresh-batch-of.ht…A reader sent me some news several days ago: a new group of deacons was ordained earlier this month in the Diocese of Worcester (Massachusetts). The local Catholic paper had the news: Bishop McManus will ordain seven men into the permanent diaconate tomorrow morning at the Cathedral of St. Paul.
