    Who owns my data?

    http://mrtopf.de/ blog/ en/ who-owns-my-data/

Facebook does prevent Google from moving my data out of Facebook but still want to be associated with Data Portability.. Of course this has nothing to do with data portability but with data centralization. I would advise them to act for their users instead of against them.

    New UnUsed Marketing Tools

    http://manhattanmarketingmaven.blogs.com/ mmm/ 2008/ 05/ new-unused-mark.html

There are a slew of surveys indicating that despite the development of great new tools to measure web activity, online behavior and marketing resource management nobody is using them. Survey after survey documents the disparity between the hype for new measurement tools and the uptake or use of these tools by marketers and agencies.

    http://thestorageanarchist.typepad.com/ weblog/ 2008/ 05/ 10052-hitachi-h.html

Notice: I withdrew this post yesterday afternoon after receiving a challenge from a commenter who insisted that I was mixing up Hitachi's disk drive results with their storage array business. After carefully reviewing Hitachi's published results, I am convinced that the revenue growth numbers I used for Hitachi's storage business are correct (and exclude HGST).

A tip if you like free stuff... I see that some of the "free" data websites are now flogging the free 2007 TIGER/Line files (SHP format) - I saw one site whoring out the data for $100+ bucks! OR....... [[ This is a content summary only.

    Why I Must Learn French

    http://rantsopinions.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 05/ why-i-must-learn-french.html

I am thinking that I must learn to speak french. I don't just mean "Bonjour" and a spattering of phrases I'm talking chattering away in french as if there was nothing to it. I feel I must because I want the option to get the hell out of the UK when it completes it's transformation into a nazi state.

    http://mashable.com/ 2008/ 05/ 16/ data-portability-future/

When Data Portability was first announced, it sounded like it would solve what had become one of the biggest problems in the social networking space: a seemingly endless array of new services, each of which required you to setup and maintain your own profile, friend’s list, photo albums, etc.
