    One of my favorite personal finance blogs that I read is Moolanomy, which had a great article on getting your FICO credit score for free from CreditKarma. The FICO credit score is often used by lenders to determine how safe a bet you are for mortgages, car loans, etc.

    Free Credit Reports are easy to get. Free credit scores are more challenging. Free credit reports have been around for some time. You can get three reports a year by going to Annual Credit Report. Be very careful not to go to other sites, because they usually trick you into signing up for something that you possibly don’t want.
