West Virginia from the ground
http://www.mydd.com/ story/ 2008/ 5/ 11/ 17280/ 6012A collection of thoughts as we head into the West Virginia presidential primary on Tuesday. The caller ID last night showed an 877 number, but I answered it anyway. "I'm a local volunteer for Sen. Hillary Clinton," the caller said. He was polite and asked me if I intended to vote for Senator Clinton in West Virginia's primary on Tuesday.

The Clinton Talking Points
http://www.mydd.com/ story/ 2008/ 5/ 11/ 17728/ 3506I whole-heartedly agree with Jerome's point in yesterday's "Deal With Defeat", but I don't think he took it far enough. Yes, Obama supporters should be prepared to lose West Virginia (as well as Kentucky), but so too should Clinton supporters be prepared to lose the nomination. Jerome is right.

FRANK RICH SAYS
http://mrod.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 05/ 11/ fran-rich-says/Frank Rich says: This is not 1968, when the country was so divided over race and war that cities and campuses exploded in violence. If you have any doubts, just look (to take a recent example) at the restrained response by New Yorkers, protestors included, to the acquittal of three police officers in the 50-bullet shooting death of an unarmed black man, Sean Bell.

Obabies Can’t Handle Defeat
http://noquarterusa.net/ blog/ 2008/ 05/ 11/ obabies-cant-handle-defeat/God dang it, Jerome Armstrong sounds a hell of a lot like Larry Johnson! Deal with defeat by Jerome Armstrong, Sat May 10, 2008 I’d humbly suggest, to all the Obama supporters that join us here on this blog, that if you can’t stand the heat of the West Virginia primary, you stay out of the kitchen.

Democrats Always Have Race Card Up Sleeve
http://www.quickrob.com/ weblog/ ?p=1337For all the whining and complaining and accusing the Democrats and their liberal base are partaking in about Hillary supposedly “playing the race card” by pointing out a very obvious and potentially critical trend among Democratic voters (that white, working-class voters prefer Hillary over Obama), it’s amazing that none of Obama’s fans seem to be seeing the forest for the trees.

A Peek Inside the Obama Campaign
http://liberaljournal.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 05/ peek-inside-obama-campaign.htmlAgain, a good article for political junkies from Richard Wolffe and Evan Thomas: How do you know if Barack Obama is unhappy with what you're saying—or not saying? At meetings of his closest advisers, he likes to lean back, put his feet on the table and close his eyes.

Have You Called Mom Today?
http://thepeacetree.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 05/ have-you-called-mom-today.htmlThe topic below was originally posted in my blog, the Intrepid Liberal Journal. The corporate media, blogs and our individual attention spans are understandably consumed by the celebrity hype of presidential politics these days. Mothers Day however offers an opportunity for all of us to reflect on our society and individual families.
