are brands too perfect?

http://www.influxinsights.com/ blog/ article/ 2047/ are-brands-too-perfect-.html

*UPDATED* Markets, the credit crunch, uncertainty and a social solution

    http://simoncollister.typepad.com/ simonsays/ 2008/ 10/ markets-the-cre.html

Heard on Radio 4 this morning: "The market hates uncertainty." Another day, another part of my interview (the fourth) with Clay Shirky (author of Here Comes Everybody). And today's topic is education. Clay rates the question (which came from Rebecca Caroe via twitter) as one of THE toughest and most important facing our generation.

The News Wants to Be Free

    http://www.turbulenceahead.com/ 2008/ 10/ news-wants-to-be-free.html

I've blogged before about the current revolution in media in general and news in particular. So I was amused by Joe Zefran's comments at the EU seminar on activist blogging yesterday that RTE has a twitter feed going: but it isn't theirs! Joe is RTE's head of internet development, and gave a fascinating insight into the national broadcaster's plans for the net and beyond.

    [Review] Here Comes Everybody

    http://el-oso.net/ blog/ archives/ 2008/ 10/ 04/ review-here-comes-everybody/ en…

Thinking back on it, I’m not sure I really learned anything new - not in terms of ideas nor anecdotes - from Here Comes Everybody. And yet I’ll probably end up buying copies for both sets of my grandparents and anyone else I care about who wants to know why it is that I do what I do.

Emergent Terminology: It’s Not About Fracturing

    http://www.subversiveinfluence.com/ wordpress/ ?p=1831

Yesterday I wrote the introduction to this post, which ended up being about as long as the next bit that contained the important stuff I wanted to say, so I split it up. Feel free to start yesterday, then continue on below, which is about the whole mess of misunderstanding over networks that are not called Emergent.
