Last night marked the opening of Boston’s Apple store on Bolyston street; the largest in the US. From what I saw on Twitter, crowds started early in the day. The building is across from the Prudential Mall and is situated between a Fidelity Bank branch and a Copy-Cop.

Less than a month after the first Detroit area Tweetup, the next Tweetup has already been arranged! Chris Brogan will be in town for ITEC and asked if Twitterers in the area wanted to meetup. Within a few minutes, Damon Henry got the ball rolling and we’re all set for May 20th in Novi.

I was reading Chris Brogan’s blog this afternoon (where anyone interested in getting better with social media should go) and found this post interesting.  Chris talks about ratcheting up your ability to get through information, especially when dealing with social media, faster and faster (think Ben Johnson on steroids, then crystal meth fast).

I’ve been enjoying reading Chris Brogan’s blog recently, and his post titled The Target is Not the Weapon made me think. Here are some quotes: “In social media, the tools aren’t the same thing as reaching a goal.

I expect something tasteful in a place of mourning and remembrance. Maybe I am old-fashioned but ads for LavaLife, who has never been the most subtle advertiser in the dating industry, on a site meant to be a memorial for loved ones is not what I expect to see.

We send out a Bigg Salute to Chris Brogan for coining this phrase and letting us run with it. He was describing a situation with an overly aggressive salesperson he had just met. This person was trying to win Chris’s business.
