    I have followed my own advice and read a volume of the Clay Sanskrit Library. Ashvaghosha's Life of the Buddha (1st or 2nd century) was by no means my first choice, but the university library I relied on, a serious place, mostly, owned exactly two volumes, which is pathetic.

    A few weeks ago I went to visit Taichung, and saw a few cool spots. Visiting Taichung’s Taiwan Arts Museum with Europe st. and the Taichung Folk Park there were a few other spots I didn’t mention which I thought were pretty neat. Taichung hosts one of the largest laughing Buddhas.
