    coloring: scribbles

    http://allthatanda.com/ 2008/ 08/ 28/ coloring-scribbles/

When I was a kid, I colored outside the lines, literally. My brother was a dark-lines-light-inside coloring person. My sister pressed hard, so her crayons ran out quickly. Scribbles is made by the dude who wrote Everybody Poops and it’s a great little coloring book for kids and adults.

    HBO Kills "Preacher" Series

    http://blog.wired.com/ geekdad/ 2008/ 08/ hbo-kills-preac.html

Comic book movies received another knock when HBO killed the planned series "Preacher" on Tuesday. The show was to be based on the Garth Ennis & Steve Dillon-penned comic book series. For almost two years, HBO had been wrestling with how to bring "Preacher" to the pay channel.

    Unaccustomed Earth

Tepid Orchestration Unaccustomed Earth by Jhumpa Lahiri / Donna Sherman All right, let me just say upfront that I haven't read any of Jhumpa Lahiri's other works. And, judging by some cursory research, I'm one of the few who were totally unaware of her existence prior to this review.

    http://tomztoyz.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 08/ new-bat-manga-book-deb-aoki-interview.ht…

Everybody knows how I am totally goo-goo over the soon-to-be-released BAT-MANGA: THE SECRET HISTORY OF BATMAN IN JAPAN Book. Well, a Manga-Reporter named Deb Aoki did a really great interview with the authors Chip Kidd & Saul Ferris. Chip Kidd is mainly known as a book designer but is also a major Bat-Fan.

Show us something that always makes you laugh. It's been a few weeks now that I have seen these same four Podcasts of "Book Chat" with Rainn Wilson and I still laugh out loud each time I watch them. In fact I've been laughing here at work so hard...

Betcha They Still Won't Host His Book Party, Though

Cast your memory back to late spring, when Michael Gross and New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art had a misunderstanding over photo rights, which ended on an optimistic note when the Met told GalleyCat Gross wasn't being blackballed and could use any picture from the Met's archives he was willing

Book Review - The American Plague by Molly Crosby

    http://www.handfulofsand.com/ blog/ archives/ 003078.html

ccounts of mankind's endless effort to combat disease are fascinating to me. A good medical history weaves together the scientific discovery of the illness, the social history of its effect on humanity, and the biography of the men and women who devote their lives to fighting it.

Nick Hornby on Naked Economics by dylan

    http://800ceoread.com/ blog/ archives/ 008406.html

In Naked Economics, Charles Wheelan makes an analogy between music "piracy" and farming, writing "You spend all summer tending to your corn crop and then your neighbor drives by in his combine, waves cheerily, and proceeds to harvest the whole crop for himself." Though an overall fan of the book, Nick Hornby disagrees with that specific sentiment.
